A TALK about Climate Justice was held in Otley this week.

Members of Otley 2030 - which is exploring steps that can be taken to make Otley carbon-neutral by 2030 - gave the presentation at the Philip Coyne Labour Rooms on Monday, September 16.

The Pizza and Politics event, which featured speakers Dave Cherry, Mick Bradley, Shannon Coles and Andy Boyle, was well attended.

The discussion focused on what practical steps can be taken locally, by working together, to try to tackle climate change and the organisers hailed the evening as ‘positive and productive’.

Otley became one of the first towns in the country to declare a Climate Emergency earlier this year, when the Town Council also backed a resolution that pledged to ‘do everything within (its) power to make Otley carbon neutral by 2030’.

Hosted by Otley and Yeadon Labour Party, Pizza and Politics evenings involve talks by a range of speakers - with a slice of pizza included in the admission price. For more details about Otley 2030 visit the group’s Facebook page.
