A RYANAIR flight was diverted to Leeds Bradford Airport after a passenger was taken ill in midair.
The pilot landed safely shortly after 9am on Tuesday and the customer, who was travelling from Newcastle to Palma de Mallorca, was checked over by paramedics.
Yorkshire Ambulance service said they were called to the airport after a passenger became unwell.
The rest of the passengers onboard the flight departed for their destination after the passenger was taken off the aircraft.
A spokesman for Ryanair said: “This flight from Newcastle to Palma de Mallorca (17 September) diverted to Leeds Bradford after a customer became ill on board.
“The crew called ahead to request medical assistance, the aircraft landed normally and the customer was met by medics for further treatment.
“The aircraft departed to Palma de Mallorca shortly after.”
