ABBEYFIELD the Dales Ltd is extending their Community Hub at Grove House Ilkley by giving over the Victorian summerhouse in the car park as a retail/display space for local crafters and artisans.
The Craft Hut In The Car Park, supported by a grant from Bradford VCS Alliance Ltd, opened on September 2 and gives the local crafting community a place to sell, meet and make. It is open Monday to Wednesday 10am - 4pm. These hours will be extended if volunteers can be found. It has already attracted interest from many people including artists, pyrographers, knitters and jewellery makers. No charge is made for the space but 15 per cent of sales will be donated to the Residents Amenities Fund at Abbeyfield that pays for trips out, entertainment and treats for the residents.
