MANY exceptional students at Bradford Grammar School have gone above and beyond expectations in their GCSE results this year.
They included Olivia Mitchell, 16, of Ilkley who swept the board with nine 9s.
“I feel very, very happy,” said the delighted teenager. “I wasn’t expecting to do so well and I was really nervous beforehand.
“I’ve loved my time at BGS. I’ve got amazing friends here.”
Friends Maeve Barrett, Eloise Rees and Laurenne Pickard also did well.
Maeve, 16, of Burley in Wharfdale, near Ilkley, scored six 9s, three 8s and one 7 grade.
Maeve said: “I’m really happy. I’ve been quite calm about it all.”
Eloise, from Ilkley, received three 9s, two 8s and five 7s.
She said: “I’m really happy with how I’ve done. I started BGS in Year 9 and I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I’ve got some great friends and I really like the teachers.”
Laurenne, 16, of Ilkley, scored six 9s, three 8s and one 6 and said she was happy with her results
“I’ve loved being at BGS,” she added.
