BENTON Park School students and staff are celebrating a strong set of A Level results this year.

The number of students achieving the coveted A* grade was significantly higher than in previous years with a quarter of all students achieving at least one A* - A grade. Three quarters of all grades awarded were Grade C and above.

The school performed particularly well in Computer Science, Psychology and Religious Education, as well as traditionally academic subjects including English and Maths, where over 90 per cent of students achieved a Grade C or above.

Some particularly strong performances were seen by the following students: Molly Aspden, Ranjodh Bains, Erin Brown, Todd Cable, Lydia Chevens, Georgia Fielding, Antony Golba-Hill, James Macintyre, Cat Marshall, Ian Nixon, Tom Noel-Flint, Katie Teale, Hannah Walker and Sophie Watson, as 60 per cent of their grades were A* or A. All of these students are heading off to study their first choice of subject at a wide variety of University destinations: such as Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, St Andrews and Bangor to name just a few.

Headteacher, Delia Martin said: "It is with real pleasure that we have shared our students’ success with them today and I would like to congratulate them on their individual achievements. The results reflect the effort these young people have put in over the last two years, along with hard work and dedication of the staff and the support from the parents and carers. We are incredibly proud of our students and would like to wish them all the very best with their future studies and careers.”
