OTLEY and District Talking Newspaper is looking for volunteer technicians.

The group is losing two of its technicians who are moving out of the area and it is now hoping to recruit replacements.

Secretary John Barker said: “The technician records our readers reading The Wharfedale and Aireborough Observer, using a mixing desk and Adobe Audition. They will then produce a memory stick, which is copied and posted out to our local blind and partially sighted listeners.

“The technician role does depend on good IT proficiency skills as the Adobe Audition interface and the recording process can be a little daunting, but it’s not necessary to have had experience in a recording studio and training will be provided.”

Recordings are made on Fridays and technicians should be able to spare about four hours once a month. Visit https://otleytalkingnews.org.uk/volunteer or phone 07816768626.
