A ‘BRING your own music’ bar in Otley has enjoyed a successful first ten months.
Groove Pad Beer and Vinyls only opened on Orchard Gate - at the former Bar Rocca site - in October, 2018. But in the short time since it has proved a hit with customers, been nominated for an Otley Business Award and was named by WhatPub (the Campaign for Real Ale’s online pub guide) as one of the top 20 new bars in the UK.
Music is Groove Pad’s defining feature, as manager Debbi Loker explains: “We have a different concept to most bars and pubs and offer a ‘bring your own vinyl’ and ‘play your own music’ options, where customers can choose from a huge rang of music. We also have a wide range of records and music clothing available to purchase.”
The bar’s drinks include cask ales, which are regularly rotated, along with premium lagers, bottled beers, teas and coffee. The venue, which is pet-friendly and wheelchair accessible, also hosts quizzes, open mic nights and themed events.
