A CHARTERED surveyor from Alnwick has been chosen to contest Keighley for the Conservatives at the next General Election.
Robbie Moore was selected by members of Keighley and Ilkley Conservative Association at a meeting on Friday night.
Mr Moore currently represents Alnwick on Northumberland County Council, and serves on its town council.
He said he was "thrilled" to be chosen to do battle in the Keighley and Ilkley parliamentary constituency.
Mr Moore said his campaign would focus on raising education standards, supporting and encouraging small and medium-size businesses and ensuring the "right type of homes " are built for the community.
The seat has been held by Labour's John Grogan since 2017, when he wrested the constituency from the Tories with a 239 majority.
