HUNDREDS of people have enjoyed a ‘celebration of quilting’ at Ilkley.
More than 230 visitors turned out for Wharfedale Quilters’ fourth biennial exhibition at Christchurch on Saturday, July 27. A large number of quilts and smaller items, all made by group members, were on display.
And a very successful craft stall helped to raise money to enable women in developing countries to set up their own sewing-based businesses to support their children and families.
Yvette Redding of Quilting Smiles, meanwhile - a local business based in Ben Rhydding - provided a well-stocked fabric and notions stall.
Wharfedale Quilters was formed almost 20 years ago by Lindsay Kitching and meets on Wednesdays, from 7pm to 9pm, at Ben Rhydding Methodist Church.
