THE NEW Yeadon Christmas Committee is beginning to finalise plans for a festive event this year.
The committee is hoping the Yeadon lights switch on, taking place on December 1, will be bigger and better than ever.
Yeadon Town Hall has been instrumental in planning the event, which will include live performances from local bands, choirs and the cast of this year’s Christmas Spectacular, which will be performed at the Town Hall from December 19 to 23.
The New Yeadon Christmas Committee was founded earlier this year by members of the local community and it has won the support of a number of businesses.
The event will coincide with Yeadon Charities’ Christmas Fayre at Yeadon Town Hall.
Jamie Hudson, Director of Yeadon Town Hall, said: “It’s going to be a full day of family-friendly festivities. There’s still plenty of chance to get involved with the fundraising to make the event the best it can be, and we hope the community will support us.”
