PUDSEY MP Stuart Andrew has attended a Pride Reception at 10 Downing Street to celebrate the first twelve months of the Government’s four-year LGBT Action Plan.
Mr Andrew said: “I was very pleased to be able to attend the Pride Reception and I was absolutely delighted by the fact that a third of the LGBT Action Plan has been delivered already within the first twelve months.
“Equality is an issue very close to my heart and it is absolutely crucial that we take steps to address any kind of discrimination against anyone for the differences between us that cannot be helped. I look forward to seeing what the next twelve months of the LGBT Action Plan have to offer and I am very grateful for everyone who took the time to join me in honouring this achievement.”
Mr Andrew said achievements in the first year include appointing the first National Adviser for LGBT Health, and delivering anti-homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying programme in more than 1,800 schools.
