MP STUART Andrew is pledging to continue to stand up for the green belt in Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough.

Mr Andrew has written “urgently” to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, to Leeds City Council and to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to reiterate his constituents’ concerns about the impact of the Leeds Site Allocations Plan on greenbelt, infrastructure, roads, public transport, schools, hospitals and pollution.

He said: “I have opposed the Leeds Site Allocation Plan since the beginning and I am absolutely astounded by the outcome of the Inspectors Report. I am entirely unable to see how they concluded that such an ill-thought out plan could simply go ahead with a few minor adjustments that do nothing to address the very real concerns we are all having. I have been engaging with my constituents and local neighbourhood planning groups on this ever since the first Site Allocation Plan was published and I am entirely in agreement with the concerns everyone is having.”
