A HIGHLY respected military band will return to Otley this autumn to perform at a fundraising concert.

The Band of the Royal Air Force College will be the headline act at this year’s Poppy Appeal show at Prince Henry’s Grammar School. The event, which raises thousands for the Royal British Legion’s appeal each year, takes place from 7.30pm on Friday, October 12.

The concert will also be attended by representatives from the Gurkhas, Chelsea Pensioners and local dignitaries.

The Band of the Royal Air Force College has become a regular at the event and organiser Irene Willis, an Honorary Citizen of Otley, is delighted they are coming back again. She said: “They are a very highly regarded band who are invited to play all over. We are very lucky to have them and it should be a great night.”

Tickets for the concert, which will be available soon, will cost £13. All proceeds will go to the Poppy Appeal - and, specifically, the Royal British Legion’s Battle Back Centre at Lilleshall, Shropshire, which works with disabled and injured veterans.
