EVOCATIVE images from an Otley school’s past will be on show at a 100th anniversary exhibition next weekend.

The display at Prince Henry’s Grammar School on Saturday, June 29 is part of a wider programme of events that have been organised to celebrate a century of providing education from Farnley Lane .

Open to the public from 10am until 2pm, the exhibition is being described as a ‘trip down memory lane’ that will feature contributions from many past students.

Assistant Headteacher Stephen Clarkson has also been busy unearthing archive material, including a wealth of old photographs, to include.

He said: “Our search for Kerr Scholars (winners of a scholarship scheme that’s been running at the school since 1948) has proved fruitful, with alumni from as far back as the 1940s and as far afield as Australia and Canada getting in touch. We have also enjoyed the help of Graham Shutt, who taught at school for many years, and Otley Museum. There will be memories from annual hobby shows, Prince Henry’s during the war, stories from past students, ad hoc tours and more.”

The exhibition takes place in the Main Hall and is free to enter.
