HUDDERSFIELD Town have released former Bantams loanee Jack Payne following his return to the Terriers.
Payne is one of five senior players out of contract at the John Smiths Stadium to depart, with Jonas Lössl, Erik Durm, Danny Williams and Laurent Depoitre also leaving.
The loan spells of Isaac Mbenza and Jason Puncheon have come to an end, although Town, who were relegated to the Championship, will take the option to make Mbenza’s move a permanent one this summer.
Midfielder Payne spent the whole of the season just ended with City, who significantly increased their contribution to his wages in ensuring he remained at Valley Parade after January.
Yet his form dipped in the second half of the campaign after he had impressed earlier in the season, particularly during City's purple patch in December.
