MOSES the donkey led worshippers into church when Palm Sunday was celebrated in Addingham.

The animal theme formed a central part of proceedings at St Peter’s Church in memory of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem seated on a lowly beast of burden.

A spokesman for the church said: “No Palm Sunday service is complete without a donkey. Happily for St. Peter’s Parish Church in Addingham, Moses, the miniature donkey, was on hand to oblige on Sunday when he led the procession into church.

“Moses is a regular visitor to St. Peter’s, having a starring role in the Crib service at Christmas with many of his friends from Hart Farm, hartanimals4kids.org. This Sunday he was supported by his friend Alfonso the alpaca and Douglas the dog. Look out for future visits to St. Peter’s on Easter Sunday morning at 10am and also the pet service at 3pm on on Sunday, May 19.”
