Nottinghamshire enjoyed the better of the opening session of the Specsavers County Championship season, reaching lunch at 112-1 from 31 overs against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.
Steve Patterson opted for an uncontested toss, meaning Yorkshire bowled first, and the skipper has claimed the only wicket so far - Ben Duckett for 43.
Duckett was caught at long-leg by Matthew Waite following a top-top-edged pull, leaving the hosts at 75-1 in the 21st over.
Notts’ other opener, Ben Slater, is on the verge of reaching 50 having played confidently on a slow pitch with a short boundary towards the West Bridgford side of the ground.
He will begin the afternoon on 42 alongside Chris Nash, who has 16.
