CRAVEN College was delighted to welcome former England international footballer and Leeds United coach Brian Deane along with fellow coach and former Bradford City and Burnley player Andy Kiwomya to the launch of their new LUFC Sports Hub.

The hub is now recruiting students for September 2019.

Students were able to sample the new course and more importantly had a chance to receive some first class professional training at Sandylands Sports Centre in Skipton on the 4G pitch where Craven College do their training.

Potential students and parents were able to take selfies with the footballing celebrities at the college before the training session began.

The one-hour session was followed by a work out in the Craven College gym and an opportunity to apply for the course in September.

The students had a small taste of what is to come, as training by a LUFC coach will be part of their unique weekly timetable, along with visits to the specialist facilities at the club and opportunities for work experience.

Students from Skipton, Keighley, Ilkley and Bingley took part. Others had travelled from Bradford and Barnoldswick.

Brian Deane said: "This is a fabulous opportunity for Craven College students.

"Not only do they get a well-respected qualification under their belt, but they get top class coaching on a weekly basis with regular fixtures and LUFC support."
