A BREXIT debate in Otley has been postponed.

The event, due to take place on the afternoon of Friday, March 22 will now be held on Friday, March 29 - the day the UK was originally meant to leave the EU.

The postponement was made so that a wider range of speakers, reflecting differing positions on the issue, could take part.

Otley Town Councillor Mick Bradley (Green, Danefield) said: "It is not proving easy to even assemble a range of speakers for this divisive issue, but I believe we have to try to get all sections of the community talking to each other about this as we do have to live with the consequences over the years to come."

The meeting will take place from 5pm to 7pm at the Otley Town Partnership room on Mercury Row.
