Barnardo’s is asking the public to take part in a virtual triathlon to raise money for vulnerable children and young people.

Fundraisers in Leeds are being challenged to swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 miles and run 26.2 miles over the course of a month. Registration has opened for the Barnardo’s iTRI challenge which kicks off on June 1. The challenge is free to enter.

Participants will have the freedom to complete the set distances for running, cycling and swimming in their own time and at their own pace from anywhere in the UK.

The distances can be tackled in one go, over several days - or even the entire month of June. Everyone who takes part is encouraged to raise as much money as they can for Barnardo’s, which last year supported 301,000 vulnerable children, young people, parents and carers across the UK.

The charity’s Chief Executive Javed Khan said: “Taking part in the Barnardo’s triathlon is a fantastic opportunity to test your fitness whilst raising vital funds to help support vulnerable children across the UK. Please do consider taking on the challenge.”
