OTLEY’S next Carnival Queen has been chosen.
Niamh Emmett Casey, a pupil at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, will be crowned at this year’s carnival on Saturday, June 15. She will succeed current Queen Lily Cullen in the role.
Niamh was chosen as Queen Elect at a selection event on Friday, March 8 when her Deputy Queen Elect was named as Eva McCrory, a student at Prince Henry’s Grammar School.
Niamh’s attendants will be St Joseph’s pupil Beth Swales and Charlotte Smith, from The Whartons Primary, while her crown bearer will be Ashfield Primary School pupil Tomas Riley Smallshaw.
The selection evening was sponsored by Stephen H Smith’s Garden Centre and the Queen Elect’s flowers were donated by Bloom Creative Flowers of Otley.
