A WEDDING venue in the Bolton Abbey Estate has been shortlisted for a prestigious architecture award.
The Great Barn is one of 15 projects in the running for the RIBA Yorkshire (Royal Institute of British Architects) 2019 Awards. The winners will be announced in May.
RIBA says: “The Great Barn is an outstanding building in a stunning national park setting, and now provides the ‘flagship’ venue for the UK’s leading wedding barn operator. The historic link between the Priory and the Great Barn is once again restored and members of the public have access to and are able to appreciate the internal structure of the barn. The architect is Pearce Bottomley Architects. Avalon wellbeing centre at Skipton is also on the shortlist.
RIBA Yorkshire Judging Panel Chairman Stephen Hill said: “The range of excellent projects entered for this year’s RIBA Awards mirror the diversity of Yorkshire itself.”
