ANDY McDonald, Labour’s Shadow Transport Secretary, is to visit Burley-in-Wharfedale.
He will be at Burley Library on Saturday, March 23 between 1.30pm and 3pm for a public meeting to listen to what commuters have to say about the state of public transport locally.
Chris Hayden, Wharfedale Labour candidate for the local council elections on May 2 said: “This second visit to our ward by a Labour front-bencher in a little over three months shows the priority that Labour give to listening to Wharfedale voters and we are eager to hear from our commuters of whatever age and any issues they have with bus and rail links.
“We know that public transport has a vital role in providing links in the community, reducing traffic congestion on our roads, helping to combat climate emissions and producing a safer environment for our children.
“We also know that Britain has some of the highest fares for commuters in Europe”
