THE recent sunny weather is due to end this weekend with the Met Office issuing a yellow warning for wind for much of the UK.

The warning is being issued for Sunday at 3pm to around 6am on Monday with heavy rain and gusts of wind from Storm Freya expected to sweep in from the south east and westerly directions.

Temperatures are set to drop to a high of nine degrees across the region on Sunday and seven degrees on Monday, with lows of between three and four degrees forecast.

A mixture of sunshine and showers are predicted for the rest of the week with temperatures struggling to get above eight degrees.
