A DOCUMENTARY about ‘swingers’ in Rochdale is in the running for a major award.

The Swinging Life of Rochdale was made by two Media students at Leeds Trinity University, in Horsforth.

Holly Murphy and Joe Greenough, both 22, produced the film during their final year and it has now been shortlisted in the Factual category of the Royal Television Society (RTS) Yorkshire Student TV Awards 2019.

Holly said: “We wanted to shine a light on the subject and make it seem funny and light-hearted. Being shortlisted is an amazing achievement as we spent many hours and put in lots of hard work on this documentary.”

The winners will be announced at Leeds College of Music on Wednesday, February 27. If successful, Joe and Holly’s film will then be entered into the national Royal Television Society Student TV Awards.
