FASHION will be the theme of a Spring Lecture at Bolton Abbey.

The event, organised by the Friends of Bolton Priory, takes place at the Village Hall at 7.30pm - doors open at 7pm - on Friday, March 8.

The speaker will be Laura Cavendish, Countess of Burlington - a former model, fashion buyer and editor of Harper’s Bazaar who now works as a freelance fashion consultant in London.

Drawing on her own experiences, she will discuss the history of fashion within the Devonshire family.

Years ago Lady Burlington and her mother-in-law, the Duchess of Devonshire, found a treasure-trove of historic clothes in Chatsworth House’s textile department. Lady Burlington then spent years searching through Chatsworth’s archives and storage boxes and, in 2017, presented the House Style exhibition at the house.

The Bolton Priory talk costs £5 which includes a glass of wine or a soft drink. For tickets call Margaret Cody on (01756) 710238 or Jean Crawford on 07951 788909.
