LAW students in Otley are taking part in a national competition.

Year 12 pupils at Prince Henry’s Grammar School will be up against teams from hundreds of other schools as they compete to make the finals of the Legal Apprentice contest.

Run by Kingsley Napley in partnership with the Times Newspaper, the competition offers a fully paid legal apprenticeship - with Kingsley Napley - as one of its prizes.

Law teacher at Prince Henry’s, Lucy Hudson, said: “Our year 12 A-level Law students are really looking forward to competing in the national Legal Apprentice 2019 competition.

“They will have the opportunity to compete against hundreds of schools across the country for a fantastic range of prizes.

“As part of the competition our students will have the opportunity to draft legal documents and advise clients, just as they would in a real solicitors’ firm.”

The nine participating students from Otley will have a busy few months ahead as they are expected to undertake ‘a significant amount of extra work’ on top of their Sixth Form studies.

The national finals of the competition will be held in London in June.
