A GOLF club has holed more than £5,000 for Manorlands.

Tribute is paid by Harriet Wood, community fundraiser at the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

She received a cheque – for £5,244 – from Alex Mawson and Julie Hart, captains at Bracken Ghyll Golf Club in Addingham.

The money was raised through various activities during the past year, including a golf day and a summer ball, which was supported with donations from businesses.

Also, Mr Mawson completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks and coined-in cash through sponsorship.

Mrs Wood said: "To have had the opportunity to benefit from this partnership with the golf club has been a great help to us at the hospice, not only in terms of the funds generated but also the awareness raised.

"More than a fifth of our patients come from the LS29 postcode area, and to see the local community actively helping to secure the hospice's future is truly fantastic.

"A huge 'thank you and well done' goes to everyone who contributed towards the wonderful total."
