AN EXHIBITION and events programme about Farming in the Washburn Valley will open next month.
The display will open at the Washburn Heritage Centre, in Fewston, on Friday, February 1 and run until the end of May.
Examining the history of local agriculture, it is based on an exhibition that the centre’s archive team created for last year’s Great Yorkshire Show.
The associated activities programme, meanwhile, will include a visit to an allotment, a trip to Wensleydale Creamery and a chance to see lambs being born at a local farm.
A spokeswoman said: “For people who missed it, this is a chance to see the excellent exhibition the archive team produced for the 2018 Great Yorkshire Show, which depicts historical aspects of farming in the Washburn Valley.
“The programme of events includes some original subjects to suit a wide range of tastes.
“Those include talks on the future of farming and diversification for survival; two suppers; musical events including a harp recital and a slide guitarist playing blues classics; and visits and walks.”
