AN APPERLEY Bridge school has announced the appointment of its first female headteacher.
Sarah Chatterton BEd (Hons) will become the Head of Brontë House - Woodhouse Grove’s junior school - with effect from September, 2019. Mrs Chatterton, who joined Brontë House in 2015 as Deputy Head, will succeed current headteacher Simon Dunn in the new role.
Woodhouse Grove’s Headmaster, James Lockwood, said: “After an exhaustive and highly competitive interview procedure, the unanimous decision of the selection panel was that Sarah Chatterton would be the leader most able to continue to strengthen and develop Brontë House.”
Mrs Chatterton said: “It is an absolute honour and privilege to be appointed to lead such an outstanding school and I look forward to the challenges ahead.”
