SANTA helped raise funds for scouts and guides in Burley while touring the village for four nights in the run up to Christmas.
Now local people have been thanked for their generous donations.
Sue Vint, 1st Burley-in-Wharfedale Guides leader, said: “The event went very well with Santa touring Burley-in-Wharfedale over four nights. The children were out waiting for Santa and their eyes lit up when they saw him. Leaders, parents and youngsters from Burley Scout and Guide Group helped Santa.
I am delighted to say we collected £1700 over the four nights. The collection will be used towards fitting out the new Scout and Guide HQ that the group are building in Burley. The new building is progressing very well and we look forward to moving in sometime in 2019.
