IT was a case of ‘Santa Paws’ coming to town at Otley last week.
A parade of flamboyantly dressed pets visited the Specsavers store on Monday, December 17, to take part in its fundraising Best Dressed Christmas Dog contest.
Spaniels Elsa and Frey emerged triumphant and were crowned joint winners after they arrived decked out in tinsel, Christmas coats and reindeer antlers. The dogs and their owner, Mandy Bailey, were presented with a Christmas stocking that had been donated by Otley business Canine Health.
Store director at Specsavers Otley, Roger Copley, said: “Freya and Elsa won the popular vote in store. We all agreed they had made a fantastic effort and looked like wonderfully festive furry friends.”
A raffle, featuring prizes supplied by a number of local businesses, was also held while the visiting dogs were treated to refreshments and games. Collected donations from the day will be presented to Dogs Trust.
