KEIGHLEY and Ilkley MP John Grogan has placed a Christmas charity bet at the Betfred shop in Ilkley.
He contributed £20 and Betfred £80. Any winnings will go to one of the Bradford Lord Mayor’s charities - Bradford Nightstop which helps young people who are homeless .
Mr Grogan said: “Going for a day out at the football or the races is an important part of many people’s Christmas.
“I myself shall be watching Guiseley v Bradford Park Avenue in the local derby at Nethermoor Park on December 26th.
“For the bet I have backed Leeds and Burnley to win their Boxing Day fixtures and Bradford City to draw at Sunderland.
“In addition I have bet on Yorkshire trained Waiting Patiently winning the big holiday race the King George VIth Steeplechase at Kempton Park. I am hoping all these come in at an accumulator of 200/1 !”
