A NEW headteacher will be taking over at St Oswald’s Primary School in Guiseley in January.

Lee Talbot, who is currently leading two schools in Scarborough, said he was relishing the role of leading the school forward and building on previous successes, including a ‘Good’ standard in a recent Ofsted report.

He said: “As an experienced school leader, I am proud to be able to build on the incredibly strong foundations and proud traditions laid by our dedicated, talented school team as we continue to maintain and develop a highly inclusive, child-centred ethos which is devoted to serving our pupils and our community.

“I am a strong advocate of a vibrant school environment and exciting learning opportunities which not only maintain consistently high academic standards, but more importantly, create independent, life-long learners who embrace challenge and care for one another. At St.Oswald’s, we are committed to ensuring that all children love learning, are able to succeed and are provided with a range of activities and experiences to help them to find and build on their own talents.”
