A group of watercolour artists who meet weekly at the Menstone Club, Farnley Road, Menston, are marking the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1, by participating in the SAA’s “Paint a Poppy Challenge” to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

The SAA will be holding a special exhibition next year in Newark, Nottinghamshire featuring poppy paintings from around the country in any preferred medium. Everyone is welcome to participate and you don’t need to be part of an art group to enter your poppy painting. It’s a great way to commemorate the end of WW1, remembering those who lost their lives and those who served. In addition it helps raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Entry forms for the challenge, and more information can be found on the SAA website. All entries must be received by 31st December. Please visit www.saa.co.uk/poppy
