MENSTON Arts Club raised money at their autumn exhibition for Help for Heroes.
The £150 cheque, was presented by Ann Wade, President of Menston Arts Club to Menston resident Judith Knaggs who represents the forces charity, Help for Heroes.
The presentation took place at the Kirkland’s trust centre, Menston, at the art club’s Monday evening meeting.
Menston Arts Club is 50 years old. Twice a year the club holds a two-day exhibition of members’ work in the large hall of the Kirklands Centre.
Members are encouraged to submit three framed works for hanging and can also exhibit a portfolio of up to twelve unframed pieces with most of the work being for sale. There is also a craft stall exhibiting and selling members’ hand-made work and the whole is supported by a cafe offering delicious refreshments.
The public votes for their favourite painting at each exhibition and the wining artist at the 2018 autumn exhibition was Robert Thomson with his stunning water colour of Old Whitby.
