OTLEY’S Town Mayor got ‘hands on’ when she visited this year’s Beer Festival.
The 2018 event was held at Otley Rugby Club on Friday, November 23 and Saturday, November 24 and featured 60 cask ales plus a selection of keg beers, perry and ciders.
Among those enjoying the occasion was Town Mayor Councillor Mary Vickers - who helped serve a few pints.
Chairman of organisers Otley RATS, Jeff Utley MBE, said: “An increased attendance was helped on Saturday by a coach-load of beer lovers who had travelled all the way from Nottingham especially for the festival.
“Many customers particularly expressed their pleasure at the beer selection this year. Sales appeared to be up too, with some beers being completely sold out.
“We were honoured to have Otley’s mayor giving up her time to help serve beer and meet staff and customers.”
Local musicians had provided entertainment on both evenings, performing free of charge, while Wilde Child’s The Italian Job was voted this year’s beer of the festival.
Proceeds will go to Otley Parish Church’s Fabric Fund, Wheatfields Hospice and the Leeds Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
