BENTON Park School has been praised by Ofsted after a visit in October.

In the Ofsted report, the school continues to be rated as “good” overall and Inspectors praise the leadership team for “maintaining the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.”

Inspectors describe Benton Park as having an “ethos of safeguarding” and they say students have positive attitudes, towards learning and respectful relationships with each other and with staff. The school said students and parents gave positive feedback to inspectors.

Improvements in the sixth form leadership team structure are highlighted, particularly in relation to the positive impact this is having on the quality of teaching and learning.

Headteacher, Delia Martin said: “We are very pleased with the report as it acknowledges the continuous hard work which my staff put in on a daily basis to raise the expectations of all students, and ensure they all achieve their full potential. The leadership team are committed to continuous improvement for the school, and together with the governors will continue to drive the school forward. Every day, I feel proud of the mature and positive attitude our students have towards their learning and the strong partnerships we share with families. These two aspects were certainly positive highlights from the inspection process and we are grateful for the many messages of support we received from parents and carers. I feel privileged to lead a school with such amazing students, supportive families and professional, hardworking staff and governors.”

The school has just held two open evenings for both year 6 parents and for admission to sixth form. Anyone who could not attend but who needs further information about admissions should ring 0113 2502330 or email secretary@bentonpark.net.
