ILKLEY Round Table were out in force on Friday to raise a record breaking £7,552.01 for BBC Children In Need.

The team had members, dressed as popular superheroes and cartoon characters, along the Ilkley to Leeds train line from dawn until after evening rush hour with street collections taking place around Ilkley and in Ilkley bars and pubs. Kingsley Johnson, Ways and Means Officer for Ilkley Round Table, said: “We are delighted to smash our previous target by over £2,400 and raise more than £7,500 for Children In Need. It’s a charity that we love to support and we are thankful to everyone that donated for their generosity and good spirit! Children in Need is always a fun day and we can’t wait to beat our record again next year!”

Look out for Ilkley and District Round Table helping Santa visit Addingham and Ilkley in early December.
