VISITORS can experience a fabulous range of local gins at the next Real Food Ilkley event.

Four of the region’s local gin producers are coming together at the local speciality and fine food market on Sunday (November 4) from 10am to 3pm on South Hawksworth Street, behind The Black Hat Pub, Ilkley.

Gin from Harewood Food and Drink Project, The Spirit of Bronte and Addingham Fruit Liqueurs will sit alongside alcohol free gin and tonics from The Temperance Spirit Company. The Real Food Ilkley Gin Gathering will offer visitors a taste of the special spirit which has seen a huge spike in popularity in recent years.

The four stalls will join over 25 other producers and offer tastings and bottles of their own produce alongside gifts with Christmas in mind.

Harewood Food and Drink Project will be bringing their very own Greystone Gin, an award-winning small batch London Dry Gin, bursting with botanicals from the Harewood Estate and handcrafted in collaboration with family-run distillery Whittaker’s.

Regulars to Real Food Ilkley will be familiar with The Spirit of Bronte and their A Yorkshire Lass Gin, although the company is going through a major rebrand and expanding its offering.

Addingham Fruit Liqueurs is a company very local to Real Food Ilkley and run by Fiona Mann who attended the very first Real Food Ilkley market. Introduced to Sloe Gin by her late father-in-law several years ago, Fiona set up the business following encouragement from friends and family who tried the recipes she was creating in her kitchen.

And for the designated drivers to Real Food Ilkley, Temperance G&Ts will be available.

These gin producers will be joining the selection of local producers which range from cheese, herbs and organic meat and veg, to gluten free treats, truffles, oil and bread.

Lucy Allen, a Director at Real Food Ilkley, said: “We decided to celebrate November with a Gin Gathering as it is such a popular tipple and we have a great many small producers specialising in it. Our market on November 4th is also an ideal time to come down to the market and buy Christmas presents from our great range of producers or order for December’s market – our last one before Christmas!”
