STUDENTS in Menston have been sporting some bright clothing to raise money for breast cancer research.
Sixth Formers at St Mary’s School, Menston paid to don pink on Friday, October 19 while a collection of donations from pupils and staff was also held.
A total of £282.68 was raised for the Breast Cancer Now campaign’s Wear It Pink campaign.
Assistant Headteacher and Director of Sixth Form, Graham Priestley, said: “The students supported national ‘pink day’ by wearing an item of pink clothing and paying a pound for the privilege.
“There were a range of contributions from socks through to ties, jackets and tops.
“It was fantastic to see the students embracing such a worthwhile cause and raising awareness of breast cancer in the process.”
