A CHARITY Halloween event - Ilkley Scare Trail - will raise money for good causes on Saturday, October 27.

The Scare Trail has two trails in Middleton Woods. The Pumpkin Trail is a free trail for children and families, with over 100 carved pumpkins to find along with games and activities which runs from 2pm to 5pm. The Frightmare Trail, an interactive walk deep into the woods with live actors, special sound and lighting effects and is not for the faint hearted.

The Scare Trail started in 2015 as a fundraiser and has raised over £12,000 for local good causes since then, and this year's event is raising funds for LS29, a support group for children with special needs and their families.

One of the Scare trail organisers Paul Jennings, said: "We're delighted to be working with LS29, they do great work with families across the Wharfe valley and beyond. They provide a wide range of outings and activities for families as well as providing a social network to share experience and knowledge. We have a great trail this year, we have a pumpkin carving competition where the winner will receive a family ticket for the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, along with lots or fantastic games and activities at the Pumpkin Trail which is on from 2-5pm. The Frightmare Trail has teamed up again with the guys from the Otley Zombie Apocalypse and have some particularly scary plans for our visitors this year, it really is going to be a scream!"

The Frightmare Trail starts at 6.30pm. Tickets are £5 and are available from the Co-Op in Ilkley and Addingham and online from ilkleyscaretrail.co.uk.
