ENTOMOLOGIST and TV presenter Dr George McGavin will speak at a meeting of Wharfedale Naturalists.

Dr McGavin, an Honorary Research Associate at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, will give a talk entitled Tales from Television: Bringing the Natural World to your Living Room.

The well-known scientist and author has been a lead presenter on many TV natural history documentaries including the Lost Land series, Monkey Planet, the award winning Oak Tree – Nature’s Greatest Survivor and, in 2018, The Secret Life of Landfill: A Rubbish History. He is also a regular contributor on The One Show as the bug expert.

The meeting will take place at Christchurch on The Grove, Ilkley at 7.30pm on Tuesday, October 23. A limited number of tickets are now being made available to non-members of Wharfedale Naturalists at £10 but must be booked in advance by ringing Peter Riley on 01943 862916.’
