SKY Sports presenter and darts anchor Dave Clark has completed the Dalesway Walk to raise vital funds for Parkinson’s UK.

The 52-year-old set off from his hometown of Ilkley on Sunday September 9 and after covering 90 miles in six days, arrived in Bowness-in-Windermere on September 14.

Since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s six years ago, Dave has dedicated much of his time to fundraising and raising awareness of the condition.

Dave said: “I would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt support, whether joining in for a few miles, sponsoring us or shouting messages of support, it is so appreciated. I ache in some parts I didn’t know existed but I enjoyed every step.

“Exercise can be really beneficial to people living with Parkinson’s. It is as important to me as my medication in helping me take control and manage my symptoms.”

Joining Dave on the walk was his good friend, Martin Turner, 60. As the former head of Sky Sports F1 coverage from 2011 to 2017, he has been living with Parkinson’s for three years.

Martin said: “Walking can make you look at life through a completely different lens and helped me come to terms with my condition, it was not only a march for a cure but the walk of life. Six days, 90 miles and a whole lotta steps!”

The walkers departed from The Old Bridge in Ilkley on the first day walking 13 miles to Burnsall. Day two say them walk to Hubberholme, then on the Dent Head, Cowgill on the third day. Day four saw them walk to Sedbergh, day five to Burnside staying overnight in Kendal. The last day saw them walk the final nine and a half miles to Bowness-in-Windermere.

Dave has smashed his £10,000 target - raising over £11,000 so far. To sponsor Dave go to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/marchforacure
