AN 85-year-old woman has died after being hit by a tipper truck in Otley.
The woman, who has not yet been named, was hit by the green DAF tipper truck on Bridge Street shortly before 11am on Monday, September 10.
The incident happened at a pedestrian crossing, near to the junction with Cattle Market Street.
She was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old man, stopped at the scene and has been spoken to by police officers.
Road closures were in place while the vehicle was recovered and the scene examined.
The closures were in place much of the day, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
The road will remain closed for much of the evening.
