A SPECIAL floral tribute will go on display at Otley Parish Church this weekend in memory of Harry Buckley.

The East Window of the church will also be illuminated with gold light from Friday, September 7 to Sunday, September 9 in support of Gold Glow September - a campaign to raise awareness of childhood cancer.

Six year old Otley schoolboy Harry died on April 8, 2014 after being diagnosed with neuroblastoma - a rare type of cancer - in 2011.

A floral arrangement of red and gold flowers has been created in his memory and will be on show at Otley All Saints Parish Church from this Saturday.

Writing in the latest edition of the church's magazine, Harry's grandparents Roger and Jean Dedman said: "Here at Otley Parish Church we remember our precious grandson Harry Buckley who would have been eleven years old on September 12 this year, but was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in November, 2011 at the age of four.

"Very sadly, Harry died on April 8, 2014.

"There will be a floral arrangement of red and gold flowers by the lectern from Saturday in Harry’s memory.

"Red was Harry’s favourite colour; gold is the colour for Glow Gold Childhood Cancer Awareness."

Gold Glow September aims to raise awareness of childhood cancer by illuminating iconic building and landmarks around the world.
