Celebrations at Benton Park

In an unprecedented year of upheaval almost a quarter of the grades awarded were at grade 7 or above with over 80 per cent of all grades at 4 or above. More than twenty students achieved at least one of the new top grade of 9, including one student with an outstanding ten grade 9s.

Among the students who were celebrating these top achieving grades were Estera Ulrich-Oltean, Abby Eccles, Lauren Webster, Hasan Ahmad, Joel Cargill, Lola Kinard, Catherine Balshaw, Maggie Nott, Laura Pester, Emily Jones, Louise Willoughby, Ellie Hargreaves, Archie Bingham, Joseph Clancy and Natalie Seddon.

Headteacher, Delia Martin said: "Our young people have done exceptionally well. I feel incredibly proud of how they, along with the staff, have coped with the demands of these reformed GCSEs. The new qualifications are harder than their predecessors and our students have risen to the challenge and dealt with it showing maturity and resilience. The results are testament to all their hard work and are very well deserved. I would like to wish them well as they move onto the next stage of their educational journey and look forward to welcoming the majority of our students who will be embarking on their A Level studies at our Sixth Form in September”
