A VARIETY of creative summer holiday activities will be held at Otley Courthouse next month.

A kite-making session kicks things off on Friday, August 3.

Running from 10am to 11.30am, the workshop is for children aged seven or over and costs £6, with materials provided.

Then from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1pm to 3.30pm on Wednesday, August 8 and from 10am to 12.30pm on Friday, August 10 three Lego Robotics workshops, for ages seven-plus, will be held. The sessions, costing £5, will show how to use computer software, motors and sensors to bring Lego creations to life.

Three radio and podcast workshops will begin on Monday, August 13. Running from 11am to 3pm the sessions will continue on Tuesday, August 14 and Friday, August 17 and end with participants (aged ten to 14) getting a chance to produce their own downloadable podcast. Tickets cost £5 and places are limited.

Also taking place on Wednesday, August 15 will be two Stopmotion Animation workshops where children aged seven and over will be shown how to create plasticine characters, design animation sets, and use storyboards and software to make short films. The sessions run from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 3pm and tickets cost £6.

Finally, a Performance Drama School, ending with a show, will be held from Monday, August 20 to Friday, August 24. Classes will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm daily and participation costs £100 per child (£90 for a second child from the same family).
