POLICE were called last night to reports of a man being assaulted in an Ilkley park.
The incident happened on Thursday, June 7, at around 8.55pm at the Riverside Gardens Park, on Bridge Lane.
The male victim, aged 53, was in the local park with his two children when they were approached by a group of youths.
Following an altercation between the man and the group of youths; the man was assaulted with a bottle.
The victim suffered injuries to his head and stomach caused by the bottle.
He was taken via ambulance to Airedale Hospital for medical attention.
Police have arrested one male aged 17 in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.
