A CARE trust has appointed a new chief executive.

Brent Kilmurray will take-up the role with Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust this summer.

He is currently chief operating officer and deputy chief executive with the health trust for Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys.

"It is an exciting time to be joining Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust," said Mr Kilmurray.

"There is a lot of good work going on and some examples of really positive partnership working across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven, and the West Yorkshire and Harrogate areas.

"I am keen to get started working with the team to build on this."

The appointment is welcomed by trust chairman, Mike Smith.

"Brent will bring a wealth of experience to the role – working with a range of partners to deliver services across a broad geographical area," he said.

Mr Kilmurray succeeds Nicola Lees, who has taken retirement for family reasons.

Liz Romaniak is acting as interim chief executive until his appointment takes effect in August.
